Job summary

Tide is seeking an engineering leader to head our Core Infrastructure team. You will hire, coach, and set clear goals for a team of engineers, and plan architecture, upgrades, autoscaling, and capacity across Kubernetes clusters, databases, and cloud infrastructure.

You will ensure availability and security, empower product engineers to deploy and run services on the platform, manage costs, collaborate across teams, and measure productivity with metrics like DORA and SPACE, shaping Tide's

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in distributed computing.
• 3+ years in engineering leadership roles.
• Experience with cloud platforms in regulated environments (security guardrails).
• Proven track record leading teams and delivering platform engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead: Hire, coach, and set clear goals for a team of engineers.
• Plan: Develop a roadmap for architecture, upgrades, autoscaling, and capacity for our infrastructure, databases, and Kubernetes clusters.
• Protect: Ensure platforms meet targets for availability and security.
• Empower: Reduce time for product engineers to deploy and run services on the platform.
• Control cost: Help product teams make cost-efficient choices for services on the platform.
• Collaborate: Share context and build cross-team relationships.
• Balance priorities: Weigh technical decisions against team and company goals.
• Measure: Track team productivity with metrics like DORA and SPACE.
