Job summary

Autodesk seeks a Software Development Manager for Platform Engineering to lead Platform/DevOps engineers and partner with Product, Design, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

The role combines delivery ownership for business apps (60%) with evolving internal CI/CD platforms, observability, and paved-road developer experiences (40%). It’s a hands-on leadership role focused on mentoring, blockers removal, and operational excellence across AWS and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people leadership experience managing engineers.
• 7+ years of engineering in cloud infrastructure, DevOps or platform engineering.
• Experience delivering and operating business-critical applications in AWS.
• Strong experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, VPC, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch.
• Experience with Kubernetes operations, Helm, autoscaling, and security practices.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Strong understanding of IaC using Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Programming experience in Python, Java, TypeScript, or Node.js.
• Familiarity with SRE practices, incident management, and operational excellence.
• Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing Platform/DevOps team.
• Own delivery for one or more business applications with roadmap execution.
• Establish and improve SLOs, SLIs, on-call, incident response, and postmortems.
• Partner with Product, Design, Security, and Engineering to align priorities.
• Evolve internal CI/CD platforms, observability, and developer experiences.
