Job summary

Doctronic is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the platform engineering team in NYC or SF, hybrid. You will guide architecture, develop engineers, and contribute to production code and operations, focusing on reliability, security, and cost.

You will build an AI-native engineering environment, own platform services delivery, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, data, and security teams. Remote options may apply for top candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience leading platform/infrastructure or developer productivity teams.
• Strong technical background; able to contribute production code and automation.
• Judgment to evaluate architecture, reliability, security, cost, and delivery tradeoffs.
• Track record turning ambiguous priorities into clear work and shipped improvements.
• Experience improving developer environments, CI/CD, observability, and internal tools.
• Experience using coding agents and understanding where automation helps engineering work.
• Proven ability to grow teams, coach engineers, and hire effectively.
• Clear communication across engineering and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a platform engineering team with clear goals, feedback, and high standards.
• Set priorities with application, AI, data, security, and product teams by impact.
• Improve reliability, scalability, and operation of production services; reduce build/test/deploy effort.
• Guide technical decisions; contribute to platform code, infrastructure, and automation.
• Build an AI-native environment with agent-ready repos, interfaces, validation, and workflows.
• Improve how agent work is scoped, supplied with context, verified, and automated.
• Track delivery speed, CI performance, reliability, and operational load.
• Lead incident response and ensure durable improvements from follow-ups.
• Hire strong engineers and expand the team as the platform grows.
