Job summary

Athena is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Platform to lead the Platform Engineering team responsible for Athena's business-critical platform systems, including workflows, integrations, and AI-enabled operations. You will define technical direction, mentor engineers and managers, and partner with Product, Operations, Data, and Finance to drive reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in people management.
Experience guiding architecture for business-critical platforms and APIs.
Proven ability to translate complex problems into actionable plans and roadmaps.
Strong communication with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow the Platform Engineering team; coach engineers and managers.
Define architecture and roadmap for shared business platforms and automation capabilities.
Drive cross-functional initiatives with Product, Operations, Sales, Finance, Legal, Data, and AI teams.
Build reusable platform capabilities for workflow orchestration, case management, reporting, and integrations.
Improve reliability, testing, releases, monitoring, and incident response.
Align platform work with business metrics like sales conversion and retention.
