Job summary

Equinix, Inc. is seeking a strategic and hands-on engineering leader to build and lead a Platform Engineering organization for a secure, scalable, API-first Compute Platform enabling self-service infrastructure and AI-driven operations.

The role also manages Quality Engineering for compute-based network offerings, driving reliability, automation, and platform service excellence across NIE teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, or related engineering organizations.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, distributed systems, infrastructure automation, observability, reliability engineering, and API-driven platform architectures.
• Experience building self-service infrastructure platforms or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) capabilities.
• Proven success driving technology transformation, operational excellence, and cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Security organizations.
• Hands‑on experience applying AI-assisted development, Agentic workflows, AIOps, and AI-Native engineering practices to improve engineering productivity and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• AI-Native Engineering & Autonomous Operations: Champion AI-Native engineering practices and AI-powered development tools.
• Platform Strategy & Engineering Leadership: Build and lead teams across Platform Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure Operations, and Network Edge Validation.
• Reliability, Operations & Platform Services: Own availability, scalability, performance, security, and health of platforms with observability and governance.
• Network Edge Quality Engineering: Lead the Test Engineering team for VNF/CNF validation and lifecycle.
• Security, Compliance & Business Management: Ensure security, compliance, risk management, and governance.
