Job summary

55ip is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead the 55ip platform, the backbone of its investment platform for large advisory and wealth management firms. The role requires delivering, scaling, and maintaining large systems in finance, with responsibility for a 3–5 person team and hands-on development.

The candidate should have a track record of building data-oriented, scalable solutions and a thorough understanding of Agile Scrum.

Qualifications

• 12–14 years of software development experience.
• Experience leading and mentoring a scrum team.
• Proficient in Python, Django, Pandas, GitHub/Bitbucket, Jira, PostgreSQL, and SQL scripting.
• Designed and executed high‑scale data projects.
• Strong understanding of OOP and software design in Python.
• Expertise across the SDLC, especially Agile Scrum.
• Experience with financial capital markets data and trading apps.
• RabbitMQ, Redis, NoSQL are a plus; R is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development, enhancement and maintenance of 55ip’s market data platform.
• Partner with stakeholders to define and deliver innovative solutions to functional requirements.
• Identify, prioritize and allocate tasks to meet the firm’s technology objectives.
• Architect and develop data ETL processes and data objects.
• Mentor and manage a team of software developers and testers.
• Plan and run agile-scrum sprints.
• Ensure high-quality coding standards, thorough testing, and provide support during UAT and post go-live phases.
