Job summary

GreatAmerica is seeking a Platform Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience with our platform engineering stack and DevOps toolchain, including Azure DevOps and GitHub. You will work on automation, data queries, and troubleshooting under the guidance of experienced engineers.

The internship program aims to build foundational technical and business knowledge while preparing for full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• SQL and SQL Server Management Studio familiarity and practical usage.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Programming/scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic familiarity with Git and source control workflows; exposure to CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Comfort with Windows/Office ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with platform engineers to support configuration, maintenance, and improvement of core enterprise platforms.
• Assist with automation and CI/CD pipeline exposure (Azure DevOps, GitHub) and help troubleshoot platform issues.
• Write SQL queries and optimize database interactions for platform data and reporting needs.
• Document technical processes, configuration standards, and contribute to the knowledge base.
