Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Platform Engineer to develop, integrate, and manage AI and analytics frameworks across private, public, and hybrid clouds, ensuring scalable and reliable performance for BI/AI/ML applications.

You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to productionize prototypes, deploy via Vertex AI and GKE, and implement MLOps with monitoring and SLIs, while balancing security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years in Platform Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient Python code for ML models.
• Build scalable data workflows with BigQuery, Dataflow, and GCS.
• Optimize model latency on GCP GPUs/TPUs.
• Design and maintain automated ML pipelines (Vertex AI Pipelines).
• Package and deploy models via Vertex AI Endpoints, Cloud Run, or GKE.
• Implement MLOps observability with Vertex AI Monitoring and Cloud Monitoring.
• Define SLOs and automated alerting for AI services.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to productionize prototypes.
• Expose AI models via REST/gRPC using FastAPI.
• Ensure explainability with Vertex Explainable AI.
