The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RHEL administration, CI/CD, and secure access management with AWS IAM, collaborating across engineering, security, and product teams to optimize performance and cost.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and current TS/SCI with polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining secure infrastructure with IaC and automation.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure using IaC.
• Manage containerized apps with Kubernetes and Helm in production.
• Integrate DevSecOps practices across the development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Administer and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.

Position Description:
JTEC Consulting is actively seeking Platform Engineers to join a dynamic engineering operations team building a robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure. Platform Engineers collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the platform ecosystem. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining critical infrastructure ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our platform while actively optimizing for both performance and cost-efficiency. A current security clearance with agency-specific polygraph is strictly required for consideration.

Key Responsibilities
(Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:)

• Infrastructure Design and Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain the underlying infrastructure for our applications and services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools
• Container Orchestration: Manage and deploy containerized applications utilizing Kubernetes and Helm
• Security Integration: Champion DevSecOps practices by seamlessly integrating security into every stage of the development and deployment lifecycle
• Automation and CI/CD: Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and automate operational tasks
• System Administration: Administer and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems
• Identity and Access Management: Configure and manage secure access policies using AWS IAM
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, security engineers, and product teams to troubleshoot complex issues and drive continuous platform improvements

Education and Qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship
• Current TS/SCI with agency-specific polygraph required for consideration
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (equivalent years of direct experience considered in lieu of a degree)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to work as part of a collaborative cross-functional team

Technical Requirements:

• Hands-on experience and deep technical expertise in the following:
• Kubernetes (for container orchestration)
• DevSecOps practices and methodologies
• Terraform (for Infrastructure as Code)
• Ansible & Puppet (for configuration management)
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) (administration and troubleshooting)
• Helm (for managing Kubernetes applications)
• Container Management (Docker, containerd, etc.)
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant industry certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKS), DevSecOps, or AWS (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer)
• Proven experience working within and scaling large-scale cloud environments
