Job summary

GovSignals in New York, NY is hiring a Platform Engineer to join our founding platform team. You will own data and deployment infrastructure used by the entire company, collaborating with the CTO and addressing data, integrations, and security concerns for government contracting workloads.

You will work across ingestion, storage, and search platforms, delivering secure, scalable infrastructure across three environments, including cloud-native and IL5 deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend/platform/infrastructure roles.
• Experience building platform or data infrastructure used by other engineers.
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, Postgres internals, Kubernetes in production, TS or Python backends.
• Experience scaling systems; security-first mindset for sensitive environments.
• Experience using AI tools in work; open-source platform work a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build ingestion, storage, and search infrastructure for 10,000+ data sources.
• Ship code across multiple security environments: commercial SaaS, AWS GovCloud FedRAMP High, IL5.
• Implement automated CVE remediation and auditable CI/CD.
• Develop infrastructure where AI agents are first-class users and support deployment tooling.
• Collaborate with deployment team to integrate customer data for thousands of users.
