Job description

Job Posting Title: Platform Engineer (Project Hire) Req ID: 10157372

The Platform Engineer is a skilled, independent contributor who designs, implements, and supports core platform and infrastructure capabilities that power magical Disney Experiences across parks, resorts, cruises, and consumer products. You will focus on data pipelines, on-prem server architecture, observability, and DevOps automation, ensuring robust, scalable, and reliable environments that enable teams to deliver seamless guest and cast experiences. We are seeking an individual to take full ownership of a large‑scale Splunk environment supporting mission‑critical operational and engineering systems. This role will be responsible for managing the entire Splunk ecosystem from the infrastructure layer (bare metal) through application‑level development, in direct support of software engineering teams responsible for complex physical systems and real‑time operations. This is a hands‑on role requiring deep technical expertise across infrastructure, data ingestion, and observability, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance.

Responsibilities
  • In this role, you will act as a proficient problem‑solver and effective partner to engineering and product teams, owning platform components from design through operations while mentoring colleagues and working with minimal guidance. You will emphasize automation, observability, and lifecycle management platforms to improve reliability, reduce operational toil, and support data‑driven decisions that enhance Disney Experiences worldwide.
