Job summary

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is seeking a Platform Engineer to drive technical leadership across the product configuration, quoting, and data distribution ecosystem. You will partner with product teams, architects, and security to design scalable, integrated solutions that align with Wellmark standards.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in development/infra/architecture, hands-on experience with AWS and modern web stacks (Angular, Node.js, TypeScript), and strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years in development, infrastructure, architecture and operations.
• Informal leadership, mentoring, architecture design and stakeholder consulting benefits.
• Experience with modern web apps/services (Angular, Node.js, JS/TS) and cloud platforms (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Partner with product teams and engineers to improve product development and quoting lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership across the technology ecosystem for platform/configuration, quoting, and data sharing.
• Translate architecture into implementable designs and define integration strategies and patterns.
• Collaborate with Architects, Product Managers, Security, Infra, and other teams to ensure architecture standards.

Education

Bachelor's degree or direct and applicable work experience

7+ years IT experience (development, infra, architecture, operations)
