Job summary

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is seeking a Platform Engineer to partner with product teams and engineers to improve the platform for product development and quoting. You will lead complex, integrated designs and drive architectural standards across security, data sharing, and deployment.

You will collaborate with solution architects, product managers and stakeholders to translate architecture into implementable designs, while mentoring teams and guiding governance and security compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or direct and applicable work experience.
• 7+ years of experience across development, infrastructure, architecture design and operations.
• 4+ years in IT infrastructure, architecture design and operations.
• Informal leadership, coaching and strong communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical designs for highly integrated platforms to optimize security and performance.
• Consult with Architects and project teams on design deliverables for platforms.
• Oversee planning, development and estimates of technical solutions with teams.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders on process improvements.
• Ensure architectures align with business expectations and governance standards.
• Provide technical guidance on supported solutions, vendor integrations and reviews.
• Support IT security, policies and infrastructure governance.
• Mentor teams and share best practices in design and implementation.
• Build strong business relationships to align technical designs with needs.
• Develop and apply industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.
