Job summary

Evolent is transforming its Platform Engineering & Operations model. You will turn approved designs into provisioned, automated platforms and document them for your peers, with transparency and formal handoffs.

As an engineer, you will build agentic AI solutions, implement infrastructure as code, and ensure security and compliance while improving observability with OpenTelemetry and container platforms like AKS and ACA.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS or related field.
• Experience building infrastructure as code and scalable platforms.
• Knowledge of agentic AI concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage infrastructure as code across environments.
• Reverse engineer existing apps and data flows to explain system behavior.
• Design and implement agentic AI solutions for platform, delivery and operations.
• Incorporate security, least-privilege access, and policy-as-code guardrails.
• Build and maintain observability using OpenTelemetry.
• Deploy containerization with Docker/Kubernetes on AKS/ACA.
• Investigate issues, perform Root Cause Analysis, and implement lasting fixes.

You will turn approved designs into provisioned, automated, and documented platforms, and you will do it transparently, through formal handoffs, Office Hours reviews, and documentation your peers can actually rely on.

Agentic AI : Platform Engineering is moving toward agentic AI as a standard part of how the organization works. As agentic AI transforms the way we work, we expect our engineers to be at the forefront of that change, designing and building intelligent solutions rather than simply consuming them. This builder mentality is a core attribute we assess from the first conversation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provision and change infrastructure exclusively as code, so that every environment is reproducible, reviewable, and free of manual drift.
• Reverse engineer the applications and infrastructure you inherit: trace dependencies, integrations, and data flows end to end until you can explain how a system actually works.
• Design and build agentic AI solutions for platform, delivery, and operations work: identify the toil worth automating, then build, evaluate, and harden the agent that removes it.
• Build security and compliance into the delivery path: least-privilege access, secrets handling, policy-as-code guardrails, and audit evidence produced by design rather than assembled under deadline.
• Engineer and manage observability solutions using OpenTelemetry to monitor and trace application performance.
• Deploy and manage containerization solutions using platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, with a strong focus on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Container Apps (ACA).
• Monitor container health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement lasting remediation.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and address the actual root cause, so the same problem does not recur.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $105,000 - 125,000. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
