Job summary

KLA is seeking a systems engineer to design, deploy, and support Linux-based infrastructure for Surfscan and related platforms in Milpitas, CA. You will automate operations using Python and Ansible, build and manage Kubernetes clusters, and ensure high availability across enterprise environments.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in Linux administration, strong scripting skills, and experience with containerization and observability tools. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience in Linux system administration, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or deployment engineering.
• Strong understanding of Linux OS, services, package management, software installation, and fault isolation.
• Experience with Ansible, infrastructure automation, cluster provisioning, or configuration management tools.
• Knowledge of Linux networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and network diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure and automation.
• Configure and manage Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
• Monitor systems and services with observability tools to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and field teams; travel domestically and internationally as needed.
