Job summary

Fintal Partners in Chicago, IL, seeks a Platform Engineer with 3+ years of Kubernetes on-prem experience to design, deploy, and operate robust on-prem clusters. You will bridge development and operations to keep systems reliable and scalable.

You will build CI/CD pipelines for on-prem environments, implement security controls such as RBAC and network policies, and automate deployments across clusters.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, ideally on-prem.
• Deep knowledge of containerization and orchestration.
• Experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong grasp of Kubernetes security best practices.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes storage and networking.
• Able to diagnose and fix complex problems quickly.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, run and maintain highly available on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
• Deploy and manage containerized apps on Kubernetes with in-house tooling.
• Design and build CI/CD pipelines for on-prem environments.
• Monitor, debug and tune clusters for reliability and performance.
• Apply on-prem Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network policies and secrets management.
• Write automation to manage infrastructure and keep environments consistent across clusters.
• Own cluster upgrades, backups and disaster recovery planning.
• Keep up with Kubernetes and on-prem infrastructure developments and bring useful updates into the environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Build, run and maintain highly available, high-performance on-prem Kubernetes clusters
• Deploy and manage containerized applications on Kubernetes with in-house tooling
• Work with engineering teams to design and build CI/CD pipelines for on-prem environments
• Monitor, debug and tune clusters for reliability and performance
• Apply on-prem Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network policies and secrets management
• Write automation to manage infrastructure and keep environments consistent across clusters
• Optimize the storage and networking setups that support the clusters
• Own cluster upgrades, backups and disaster recovery planning
• Keep up with Kubernetes and on-prem infrastructure developments and bring useful updates into the environment
