Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Software Engineer I to join the Matterport Platform Engineering team in Irvine, CA. You will design, implement, and deploy features and services at scale, building APIs and backend services in a fast-paced, API-heavy microservices environment.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of cloud-based feature delivery using Java or Kotlin, with Agile practices. Hybrid work: in-office Monday-Thursday, Friday remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person University or College
• A track record of commitment to prior employers.
• 1+ years of development experience, designing and delivering features and services in a cloud environment
• Experience developing SaaS solutions using modern OOP languages, such as Java and/or Server-side Kotlin
• Problem-solving and debugging skills in all areas of platform development
• Ability to work well in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy new features and services
• Build features and services using Kotlin, and front-end technologies
• Build APIs, backend services and integrations that support our products
• Work with relational and non-relational data stores
• Work with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, engineers and QA
• Ensure proper monitoring and respond to issues with live environments
• Be an advocate for good engineering practices
• Contribute to a learning culture
