Matterport in Irvine, CA is seeking a Software Engineer I to help build and scale the Matterport Platform. You will design, implement and deploy features and services, working in an API-heavy, microservices environment.

This role emphasizes collaboration across teams and a strong focus on delivering high-quality software. The position is located in Irvine, CA with a Monday to Thursday in-office schedule and an option to work from home on Friday, offering a balanced hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• 1+ years of development experience in a cloud environment.
• Experience with Java and/or Kotlin for SaaS solutions.
• Problem-solving and debugging skills in platform development.
• Ability to work in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy new features and services.
• Build features and services using Kotlin and front-end technologies.
• Build APIs, backend services and integrations that support our products.
• Work with relational and non-relational data stores.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers and QA.
• Ensure proper monitoring and respond to issues in live environments.
• Advocate for good engineering practices and contribute to a learning culture.
