Job summary

Perry Weather is seeking a Platform Engineer to build and run the infrastructure that powers our weather safety platform. You will own infrastructure as code, Kubernetes environments, delivery pipelines, observability, and guardrails to ensure safe, scalable changes.

Success means fast service setup, reliable deploys, and engineers able to diagnose issues independently. You’ll work with AI coding agents daily and contribute to cost reporting and security controls across our platform.

Qualifications

• 4+ years owning production infrastructure and platform engineering.
• Fluent with infrastructure as code; Terraform preferred, other IaC tools ok.
• Experience across major cloud platforms (Azure preferred, others ok).

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain Terraform for cloud footprint and module reuse.
• Run Kubernetes workloads, tune resources, and manage outages.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for fast, reliable deployments.
• Improve observability, dashboards, and alerting for reliability.
• Track cloud spend and enforce cost controls.
• Design and enforce guardrails: secrets, least-privilege, scanning, audits.
• Collaborate with AI agents, provide scoped identities and audit trails.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident resolution.
