Job summary
Milwaukee Tool is seeking an innovative IT-focused engineer to support distribution center automation on the 2nd shift. You will optimize conveyors, sortation, and control systems, ensuring high equipment reliability and operational performance across PLCs, APCs, and WCS/WMS integrations.
You will collaborate with DC leadership and maintenance teams, troubleshoot complex systems, and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
- WCS implementations and integration with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Troubleshooting material handling control systems, PLC/PC controllers, and industrial networks.
- Experience with conveyors, sortation, scanners, and AS/RS systems preferred.
- Excellent documentation for project life cycle, DOO, test plans, and user guides.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support IT-related projects for distribution center automation.
- Troubleshoot and maintain material handling control systems, including PLC/PC networks.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations across departments.
- Provide first-level escalation support for hardware and control software issues.
- Develop commissioning plans and test procedures for new systems.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends and improvements.
- Create and maintain Design/Operation descriptions and user guides.
