Job summary

Options Group is seeking a Platform Engineer for Data Visualization in New York. The role focuses on automating and enhancing existing data exploration and visualization capabilities while building frameworks that enable the modeling team to deliver new analyses swiftly.

The ideal candidate will work closely with business users and data scientists, possessing strong communication and presentation skills, and ideally, a background in big data technologies, including Hadoop.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and presentation skills and a willingness to collaborate with others is a must.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in big data technologies such as Hadoop is a plus.
• Excel VBA and Excel plugin development is a plus.
• Familiarity with Equity markets or financial industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and support visualization and exploration capabilities around big data sets.
• Work in an Agile fashion with business users and data scientists.
• Conduct proof of concepts to evaluate new technologies.
• Create standards for a reporting focused data warehouse.
• Promote best practices for big data visualization.

Skills

Strong communication and presentation skills
