Job summary

Charter Communications is seeking a Platform Engineer IV to design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure powering the IIA Data Lake and AI agent workloads. You will implement IaC, manage CI/CD pipelines, and develop automation utilities in Python to support data ingestion and deployment.

The role emphasizes production reliability, security, and scalability, with collaboration across teams including SpecGPT and Splunk. A strong background in cloud, DevOps, and data platforms is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Strong communication skills to explain infrastructure decisions to non-infrastructure stakeholders.
• Expert-level experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Glue, Athena, EMR, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch.
• Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code: Terraform preferred, CloudFormation acceptable.
• Experience managing cross-account AWS architectures, VPC peering, PrivateLink, and transit gateway configurations.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).
• Proficiency with Linux-based operating systems and shell scripting.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals: DNS, CIDR, NAT, firewalls, security groups.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, tooling, and applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage AWS infrastructure for the IIA Data Lake (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI agent deployments (GitLab CI, Docker).
• Develop utilitarian Python scripts and glue services for data ingestion and deployment.
• Ensure production stability with monitoring, alerts, and incident response.
• Coordinate connectivity and access requirements with cross-team platform owners.
