Job summary

Stefanini North America and APAC in Detroit is seeking a Platform Engineer to develop and maintain reusable software components that support product developers across the organization. You will design, implement, integrate, and sustain infrastructure and software that empower developer productivity and self-service.

The role requires hands-on experience with platform infrastructure, cloud services, automation, and security practices, along with collaboration across architecture and engineering

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT experience, 4+ years of development experience.
• Experience collaborating with enterprise architects and software teams.
• Familiarity with cloud providers, containerization, and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, software architects, and software engineering teams to design platform infrastructure and tools, including servers, networks, storage, databases, and cloud services.
• Implement and manage platform infrastructure, ensuring upgrades, security patches, and performance improvements are regularly completed.
• Evaluate cloud providers, containerization solutions, and other complex technologies; understand available configurations and create reusable abstractions for application teams.
• Write and execute automated Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts and use CI/CD processes to improve provisioning, configuration, and infrastructure management.
• Integrate performance and monitoring best practices, including QoS and SLA metrics, to enable platform applications and managed services to scale automatically with demand.
• Incorporate security and disaster recovery best practices, including access control, identity management, logging and monitoring, public and private network configurations, data encryption, storage backups, and disaster recovery.
• Facilitate the integration of enterprise-managed software configurations into application-team deployment pipelines, helping ensure approved practices for security, networking, logging and monitoring, performance, and scale.
• Gather and advocate for feedback from service providers and developers to help the platform evolve and meet their needs.
