Job summary

Massive Rocket Limited is hiring a Platform Engineer to keep our AWS infrastructure, Linux environments, and internal apps reliable, secure, and cost-efficient. This hands-on role blends platform engineering, cloud administration, automation, and internal IT support within a fast‑growing team.

You’ll collaborate with IT and engineering, automate repetitive tasks, and help improve security posture and compliance across ISO 27001 and SOC 2.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Systems Administration, or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience, including IAM, EC2, VPC, S3, and other core services.
• Experience with Linux administration, troubleshooting, and security patching.
• Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern application deployment practices.
• Scripting and automation experience in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience administering SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Atlassian Cloud, or Slack.
• Solid understanding of identity and access management, security best practices, and least-privilege principles.
• Familiarity with security/compliance frameworks like ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
• Confidence troubleshooting infrastructure, applications, and end-user issues, and willing to handle IT support alongside engineering.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and within a small technical team.
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS).
• Experience developing or maintaining internal applications and services.
• GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms.
• PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Automation and integration platforms such as n8n.
• Monitoring and logging tools.
• Vulnerability management and technical security controls.
• Understanding of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve AWS infrastructure, Linux environments, and internal applications.
• Support infrastructure provisioning, containerised workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and application deployments using modern DevOps practices.
• Keep infrastructure maintenance and security patching up to date.
• Handle internal IT support requests, including troubleshooting, account provisioning, access management, and connectivity issues.
• Investigate infrastructure and application incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes to prevent recurrences.
• Administer SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Atlassian Cloud, and Slack; manage configurations and integrations.
• Build scripts, integrations, and automated workflows across IT, cloud, and business systems.
• Implement and maintain security controls, support vulnerability remediation, access reviews, and ISO 27001/SOC 2 alignment.
• Keep technical documentation, runbooks, and infrastructure records accurate and up to date.
• Identify cloud and SaaS cost-saving opportunities.
