Barclays is seeking a Platform Engineer - AVP to design, build, and improve secure, scalable software platforms across cloud, container, AI, and enterprise environments. You will lead a team, align with business goals, and deliver reusable capabilities, automation, and modern engineering practices.

The role is based in Whippany, NJ, with a base salary range of $120,000 to $175,000 and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building secure, scalable software platforms.
• Strong knowledge of cloud services across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go and building APIs and automation.
• Extensive CI/CD experience and automation tooling.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible.
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes and Enterprise deployment.
• Focus on security, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices.
• Developer experience mindset with reusable templates and guardrails.
• Experience with GenAI enablement and AI/ML workload support.
• Leadership, mentorship, and alignment of technology outcomes with business targets.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve software platforms and services.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to shape requirements.
• Lead code reviews and promote engineering excellence.
• Drive secure coding and test automation practices across squads.
