Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking Platform (DevOps) Engineers to provide production support, monitoring, CI/CD design across hybrid cloud environments, and AI/ML infrastructure management for the CTDS platforms. You will tackle incidents, tune performance, and help deploy ML models in on-prem and cloud contexts to accelerate translational data science.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in DevOps/system engineering and hands-on scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement top priority technical tasks and deliver on time with quality.
• Participate in complex activities including design and implementation.
• Handle a scope of significant size critical to the team's success.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor interns and less experienced members.
• Actively participate in the hiring process and provide interview feedback.
• Negotiate complex decisions and advocate for optimal technical solutions.
• Utilize knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Act as a technical consultant for faculty research/teaching.
• Perform other related work as needed.
