The Platform Engineer plays a critical role in securing and maintaining the infrastructure that supports Suncoast Credit Union’s digital services. This role focuses on network security, endpoint protection, access control, identity and key management, and collaboration with IT operations to strengthen the organization's security posture. The Platform Engineer ensures that infrastructure platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with zero trust principles. They also contribute to threat modeling, incident response, and the integration of security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

The Platform Engineer plays a critical role in securing and maintaining the infrastructure that supports Suncoast Credit Union’s digital services. This role focuses on network security, endpoint protection, access control, identity and key management, and collaboration with IT operations to strengthen the organization's security posture. The Platform Engineer ensures that infrastructure platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with zero trust principles. They also contribute to threat modeling, incident response, and the integration of security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.


Responsibilities

  • Design and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) to manage cloud resources using tools such as Azure ARM, Terraform, or Ansible
  • Maintain and optimize Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, testing, and deployment of applications to Azure App Services and Azure Service Fabric
  • Migrate Service Fabric Microservices to Kubernetes
  • Work alongside Azure Cloud Engineers to integrate new App Services within Azure Cloud Services
  • Integrate internal and third-party APIs within Azure API Management to provide a unified, secure, and managed interface for internal and external consumers
  • Oversee the deployment and configuration of Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines, and containerized applications
  • Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into the development and deployment pipelines, such as static application security testing (SAST) and dynamic application security testing (DAST)
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform services for performance, availability, and cost-efficiency
  • Manage secrets and credentials using tools like Azure Key Vault
  • Implement and enforce zero-trust principles across platforms and services, ensuring robust identity and access management
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and operational runbooks
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams on platform usage and DevSecOps principles
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident response and resolution of platform-related issues
  • Stay current on industry trends, tools, and best practices in cloud computing, DevSecOps, and platform engineering
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
  • Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems or situations

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
