Job summary

Confidential seeks an experienced Platform/Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure across AWS, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You will develop reusable IaC modules using Terraform and support secure-by-design implementations in regulated settings.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong networking and security skills, and delivery of end-to-end infrastructure solutions with automation and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years in cloud, platform, or infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience designing and building AWS infrastructure with multi-account environments preferred.
• Extensive Terraform or comparable IaC tool experience.
• Strong knowledge of networking, identity, and security implementation.
• Experience with regulated/compliance-driven environments (CMMC or NIST).
• Experience building/integrating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Demonstrated ability to own solutions from design through implementation and operation.

Job description

Hands-on role focuses on designing, building, and implementing scalable, secure infrastructure across commercial and CMMC Level 2 environments.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, building reusable platform capabilities, and driving automation across cloud and hybrid environments. This position requires an engineer who can take solutions from initial design through implementation and ongoing operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable infrastructure across AWS, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Build and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules and platform components.
• Implement secure-by-design solutions aligned with CMMC Level 2 and enterprise security requirements.
• Collaborate with Security Architecture and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams to translate requirements into practical technical controls.
• Lead implementation of network segmentation, identity integration, logging, and monitoring solutions.
• Drive automation through infrastructure CI/CD pipelines and Policy as Code (PaC).
• Resolve complex platform and infrastructure challenges through hands-on engineering and iterative development.
• Develop and refine platform standards, patterns, and reference implementations through working code.
• Mentor engineering teams on infrastructure, automation, and platform design best practices.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, including AI-enabled platforms, with attention to practical implementation and risk alignment.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and building AWS infrastructure; multi-account experience preferred.
• Extensive experience with Terraform or comparable IaC tools.
• Strong knowledge of networking, identity, and security implementation.
• Experience implementing infrastructure in regulated or compliance-driven environments, including CMMC or NIST frameworks.
• Experience building and integrating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Demonstrated ability to own solutions from design through implementation and operation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps and platform engineering operating models.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust or modern security architectures.
• Experience integrating infrastructure platforms with enterprise identity providers, IT service management systems, and monitoring tools.
• Exposure to container platforms and Kubernetes.
