Job summary

Good co India is seeking an experienced Platform Architect to design and lead enterprise-scale cloud platforms. You will define architecture standards, roadmaps, and best practices while delivering secure, scalable, and highly available systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD practices, plus strong leadership across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud and technology platforms.
• Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP, with hands-on experience in cloud architecture and services.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, container orchestration, and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools and automated infrastructure provisioning.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Git, Linux, networking, load balancing, and automation.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and platform services.
• Strong knowledge of databases, caching, messaging systems, and data-storage technologies.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Design and lead the architecture of scalable, secure, highly available, and resilient enterprise platforms.
• Define platform architecture, technology standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable platform solutions and technical roadmaps.
• Design and implement cloud-native platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid environments.
• Build and maintain containerized and Kubernetes-based platforms for application deployment and operations.
• Establish Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
• Design platform services supporting microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed applications.
• Drive platform scalability, reliability, performance, availability, and cost optimization.
• Implement observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational dashboards across platform services.
• Establish platform security controls including IAM, secrets management, encryption, network security, and Zero Trust principles.
• Design disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and fault-tolerant solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, SRE, security, data, product, and infrastructure teams.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and improve developer productivity.
• Lead platform modernization, cloud migration, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on technical requirements, business value, and operational impact.
• Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, and platform health reviews.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, system diagrams, and operational guidelines.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across platform and infrastructure teams.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.

• Experience designing high-availability, fault-tolerant, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity solutions.
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance engineering, reliability, and cloud cost optimization.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, self-service infrastructure, or reusable platform components is an advantage.
• Strong architectural thinking, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, CKA/CKS, or TOGAF are preferred.
