We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to support a critical infrastructure migration project from VMware to Wind River.

This is a remote, long-term contract opportunity aligned with Mountain Standard Time (MST) hours.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in KubeVirt, Kubernetes, and VMware environments, with a strong background in Linux systems and containerization technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal project teams to support the migration from VMware to Wind River.
• Administer and maintain KubeVirt environments within Kubernetes clusters.
• Conduct regular health and performance checks on virtual machines.
• Manage Rancher for Kubernetes orchestration, access control, and lifecycle management.
• Operate and maintain VMware vCenter and vSphere platforms for provisioning and management.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with KubeVirt.
• Strong experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter.
• Proficiency in Linux systems engineering.
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Jira for project tracking and collaboration.
• Proven experience with VMware migration projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in the telecommunications industry.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
