Job summary

Verge IT is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to support IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) and Red Hat OpenShift environments in enterprise hosting. The role emphasizes high availability, troubleshooting, upgrades, and platform maintenance across MAS, middleware, databases, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, cloud networking, automation tooling, and observability platforms, in a managed hosting or CloudOps context. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2 databases.
• Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or infrastructure automation tooling.
• Experience with DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, or Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
• Experience supporting networking within OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with ingress controllers, routes, reverse proxies, and container networking concepts.
• Experience working with cloud networking and security controls in AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud.
• Experience with enterprise observability and monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, Datadog, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
• Experience working within managed hosting, MSP, or CloudOps environments.
• ITIL, cloud, Kubernetes, or security certifications preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support MAS and OpenShift Platform Operations including MAS environments and OCP clusters.
• Monitor and troubleshoot pod, node, ingress, route, storage, and container-related issues.
• Assist with OpenShift upgrades, patching, certificate management, and platform maintenance.
• Coordinate with networking teams for incident resolution and connectivity validation.
• Participate in disaster recovery activities and operational validation of changes.

Platform Operations Engineer - IBM MAS & Red Hat OpenShift

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Platform Operations Engineer to support enterprise-hosted application environments with a primary focus on IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments.

This role is responsible for the operational support, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of containerized enterprise application platforms operating within high-availability managed hosting environments.

The ideal candidate combines strong infrastructure and application troubleshooting capabilities with hands‑on experience supporting OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms, cloud infrastructure, monitoring systems, operational automation, client‑facing managed services operations, and cloud networking concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

IBM MAS & OpenShift Platform Operations

• Support and maintain IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) environments
• Monitor and troubleshoot Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters
• Support containerized application deployments, scaling, and operational health
• Troubleshoot pod, node, ingress, route, storage, and container‑related issues
• Support OpenShift upgrades, patching, certificate management, and platform maintenance
• Assist with cluster performance monitoring and operational optimization
• Support integrations between MAS, middleware, databases, and infrastructure components
• Participate in operational recovery and disaster recovery activities for containerized platforms

Cloud Networking & Connectivity Operations

• Support cloud and hybrid network connectivity for hosted application environments
• Assist with firewall rule coordination, network access troubleshooting, and connectivity validation
• Support application ingress/egress configuration within OpenShift and cloud environments
• Troubleshoot DNS, routing, gateway, load balancer, and SSL/TLS‑related issues
• Assist with VPN, reverse proxy, and secure endpoint connectivity troubleshooting
• Support network segmentation and secure communication requirements between application, database, and infrastructure layers
• Coordinate with client and vendor networking teams during incident resolution and environment changes
• Assist with operational validation of network‑related infrastructure changes

What We’re Looking For:
