Job summary

Dow Jones & Company, Inc. is seeking a Platform Editor for NewsPlus in New York. This shift-based role focuses on real-time news delivery to financial professionals, curating breaking news and market updates for the NewsPlus platform and newsletters.

You will monitor real-time flow, package content with concise summaries, and collaborate with teams across WSJ, Dow Jones Newswires and a global network. Strong editorial judgment and CMS familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

  • Some experience in a digital newsroom or publishing environment.
  • Strong interest in financial markets, business news or economics.
  • Excellent editorial judgment and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and metadata tagging.
  • Ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and willingness to work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Curate and publish breaking news, market moves and corporate updates using Dow Jones content.
  • Work an 8-hour shift, including a one-hour lunch break, and be flexible to start between 9-11 a.m. based on news flow and global team coverage.
  • Monitor real-time news flow and spot top headlines across regions.
  • Package content for newsletters and briefings with clear, concise summaries.
  • Use CMS tools to tag and optimize content across the NewsPlus platform.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in WSJ, Dow Jones Newswires and other teams globally.

Platform Editor, NewsPlus, New York

Dow Jones is seeking a digitally minded platform editor to join NewsPlus—our real-time news portal for financial professionals.

NewsPlus features company, markets and policy news from Dow Jones Newswires. The platform serves top-tier users at banks, brokerages and financial-services firms.

This is a shift-based role, ideal for early-career editors or producers with a strong interest in digital news, business and markets. The team curates breaking news, features and analysis from across Dow Jones publications—including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and MarketWatch, for publishing on the NewsPlus platform and in newsletters.

You’ll work in a fast-paced digital newsroom, using your news judgment, attention to detail and awareness of financial news to help deliver the right content at the right time to our professional audience.

You will:
