Job summary

Esri is seeking a DevOps/Platform Engineer to design and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins. The role involves Docker-based builds, Python automation, and IaC with Terraform/Ansible, plus cloud and Kubernetes environments for mission-critical software.

You will contribute to SBOM tooling and secure build practices while aligning with DevSecOps standards in a challenging, on-site setting in Vienna, VA.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional DevOps, CI/CD, or platform automation.
• Hands on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure Pipelines, or similar).
• Experience with YAML-based pipeline configurations and infrastructure definitions.
• Automation and scripting experience (Python and/or JavaScript preferred).
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, AWS CDK, Terraform or similar IaC frameworks.
• Ability to write and optimize Docker files and support container-based deployments.
• Understanding of artifact management, dependency management, and secure build practices.
• Familiarity with SBOM tools and artifact signing concepts.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) especially compute services and storage services (S3, Blob Storage).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
• Develop GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins-based build environments.
• Create Python automation for platform tasks.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/Ansible.
• Support SBOM generation and vulnerability scanning in pipelines.
• Automate cloud provisioning and Kubernetes-based delivery environments.
• Collaborate on DevSecOps practices and secure deployment pipelines.
