Job summary

Function Health is building an AI operating system for health. We seek a data infrastructure engineer who understands data pipelines, governance, and model serving. You will own the data stack, enabling safe and fast delivery for engineers and clinicians.

You will collaborate across teams to design interfaces, implement scalable pipelines, and ensure data quality with testing and observability. This role emphasizes rapid delivery with high standards in a health-tech environment.

Qualifications

• Built internal platform or infrastructure adopted by engineers.
• Operated production data or ML systems, on call for them, and fixed them under pressure.
• Strong Python and SQL; comfortable in a lakehouse (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Designed interfaces and schemas used by multiple teams without breaking them.
• Thoughtful about testing and CI for data/ML where correctness is statistical.
• 1–4 years of engineering experience; focus on what you’ve built, not the number.

Responsibilities

• Manage event pipelines and schemas to ensure accurate metrics.
• Oversee Bronze–Silver–Gold data pipelines and schema evolution.
• Develop ML pipelines and model-serving with testing and observability.
• Enable self-serve data tooling and policy-as-code for PHI and governance.
