Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company in Louisville, KY, is seeking an Associate Principal Software Engineer to serve as Platform Technology Architect for Software & Connectivity across the UCC product portfolio.

You will own the architectural direction and capability roadmap for embedded software, GUI, OS strategy, cybersecurity, and device‑cloud integration, partnering across functions to drive scalable solutions.

Qualifications

Strong background in software architecture, risk management, and cybersecurity.
Experience with regulated medical devices and platform reuse across releases.
Ability to influence without direct authority across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

Own the UCC software and connectivity capability roadmap across embedded software, GUI software, OS, security, and data interfaces.
Define crawl/walk/run maturity steps for software domains and align with product releases.
Lead platform strategy reviews and publish the roadmap with deliverables and metrics.
Establish architecture principles, interfaces, and reusable patterns across products.
Provide go/no-go guidance on architecture, GUI, OS, and device-cloud integration decisions.
Define GUI architecture to support consistent workflows and human factors.
Guide cross-functional teams to align governance forums and programs.
Prioritize improvements using field data, defects, and regulatory needs.
