Job summary

Bentley Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to own the end-to-end technical architecture of the Bentley Developer Platform, including API gateway, authentication, metering, billing, and analytics. This hybrid role combines hands-on coding with setting API standards across the portfolio.

You will partner with Product and Technology teams to define global API standards, ensure security models, and drive adoption while delivering cloud-native solutions that scale across a global

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience and architecture of large-scale systems.
• Own end-to-end platform architecture including commercialization, adoption, and analytics.
• Experience with enterprise API Management and portal frameworks (e.g., MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato) and developer portals.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the architecture of the Bentley Developer Platform, including API gateway, authentication, metering, billing.
• Own end-to-end platform architecture from developer experience to registry and analytics.
• Write production code, review PRs, and unblock critical-path engineering work.
