SMS group USA is seeking a Plater for a full-time 3pm-11pm shift. The role requires experience with cranes and forklift operation, along with the ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.

The candidate should be comfortable with weekend work and potential overtime. Prior experience in plating or related fields is preferred, and hazard recognition as well as basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with crane operations and daily inspections.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a plater on an 3pm-11pm shift.
• Comply with safety and hazard controls.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Assist with material handling and loading/unloading.
• Support crane operations and equipment setup.
• Maintain basic documentation and logs.
• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams.

• Hazard Recognition – knows / understands hazards of the job assignments before starting a job
• Communication - effectively communicate with other employees
• Advanced Measuring – use various complex measuring devices and gages as required
• Blueprint reading - interprets drawings
• Cranes – lifts equipment safely, knows where disconnect switches are, performs daily crane inspections, loads and unloads trucks, stages equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Forklift – drive safely, load and unload, refuel, perform daily forklift inspections
• Work from bills of material, purchasing lists, shipping documents and parts/ shop supplies
• Understands basic electroplating principles equipment and chemical hazards
