Job summary

Pollard Banknote Limited seeks a detail-oriented Platemaker to join the Prepress team in our Ypsilanti Plant at 775 James L Hart Parkway. The role involves reviewing production files, operating plate making equipment, and ensuring quality and efficiency in plate production.

You will help lead the plate making process, maintain equipment, and coordinate with external vendors to keep production on schedule and within safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of Pre-press operations and modern printing technology and processes.
• Knowledge in Flexographic Printing is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Long duration of concentration in front of computer.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years previous experience working in proofreading or in pre-press production environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review production files to ensure specifications are correct.
• Operate plate making equipment and lead Plate Making process.
• Monitor schedules and minimize waste while maintaining quality.
• Calibrate and maintain plate making equipment for optimal output.
• Coordinate service from outside vendors and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized plate room and stock.
• Perform daily/weekly safety inspections and adhere to procedures.
