Job summary

Wilsonart in Fletcher, NC is seeking a Production Associate to operate the plate lift, inspect materials, and support the press dept under supervision. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, following safety policies and quality standards.

This role offers competitive pay of $23.57 per hour with shift premium and rotating shifts, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent education/work history.
• 1 year of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves and inspects component material, plates, and laminate.
• Lays up component material and lays off completed laminate as part of a two-person team.
• Initiates corrective action if production operations are not standard.
• Logs production information (material produced, type, size, run, settings, rejects).
• Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventive maintenance checks; follows safety policies.

Job Summary

Working in the Press department, this associate operates the plate lift, separates pressed laminate and stacks material. Works under the direction of Press Operators/Foreman.

Essential Duties And Responsibilties

• Retrieves and inspects component material, plates, and laminate.
• As part of a two person team, lays up the component material and lays off completed laminate according to the production process.
• Initiates corrective action if production operations are not standard.
• Logs production information such as: material produced, type, size, run, control settings, rejects, etc.
• Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks and follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Participates in the Wilsonart Continuous Improvement system and complies with all quality standards.

Perform other position duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to work in a safe manner following company guidelines and procedures.
• Knowledge of computers, sufficient to enter data into system.
• Ability to identify patterns and finishes and follow quality specs.
• Ability to operate a lift truck.
• Skill in hand and eye coordination.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: High School Graduate/GED or combination of equivalent education and work history.

EXPERIENCE: 1 year of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Working Conditions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy work - tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials or 50 to 100 pounds. Plus walking and standing during a minimum of a 10-hour shift.
