Job summary

Amcor in Louisville is seeking a Processing Engineer Manager to lead plastics processing operations for reheat and blow molding of high-quality food grade bottles. This role develops robust process parameters, improves productivity, and ensures compliance with quality standards.

You will provide technical leadership during production, trials, and new product introductions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and scale up from pilot to full production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in plastics/chemical/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years in plastics processing, specifically reheat/blow or SBM.
• Strong understanding of PET processing and blow molding.
• Experience in food/pharma-grade manufacturing.
• Solid problem-solving using RCA, DMAIC, DOE.
• Knowledge of SPC and process validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain optimal processing parameters for RHB and SBM equipment.
• Improve cycle times, material utilization, energy use, and efficiency.
• Lead root-cause troubleshooting for process-related issues.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to production teams.
• Support machine startups, material changes, mold changes, and tooling qualification.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, cGMP, FDA and internal quality standards.
