Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a responsible machine operator to read production schedules, set up molding machines, and run equipment per process sheets. You will monitor quality, record process data, and assist with training new operators in a safe, organized environment.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, adherence to safety procedures, and efficient handling of materials and tooling to keep production on schedule across the packaging operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3–6 months related experience.
• Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably packaging or injection molding.
• Embraces continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules and product specifications.
• Performs initial setup on molding machines, resin changes and mold insert/tag changes as required.
• Start machines by setting controls according to design configuration and process sheets.
• Performs first good part procedure.
• Keeps tooling clean and organized; notifies supervisor of damage.
• Stops equipment and clears jams.
• Helps train new machine operators.
• Observes for equipment malfunctions and takes corrective action.
• Troubleshoots hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Records data such as weight, color, material type, insert/tag, cycle time, pressure, and temperature.
• Maintains a clean and organized machine area.
• Follows OSHA and safety procedures; ensures a safe environment.
• Identifies and isolates non-conforming parts and issues hold tickets.
• Participates in corrective action for held products.
• Relieves personnel for breaks; supports a safe, efficient department.

• Performs initial setup on all molding machines including, resin changes and mold insert/tag changes according to schedule requirements.
• Start machines by setting controls according to design configuration and process sheets.
• Performs first good part procedure.
• Keeps all tooling clean and organized, and notifies supervisor of any damage.
• Stops equipment and clears jams.
• Helps train new machine operators.
• Observes and listens to detect common equipment malfunction and takes corrective action (E.G. perform minor repair or adjustment, contacts supervisor)
• Troubleshoots hydraulic pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Records all data such as weight, color, material type, insert/tag, machine cycle time, pressure, and temperature on process sheets and set-up sheets.
• Keeps machine area clean and organized.
• Keeps informed of the latest OSHA and related safety procedures for operation of equipment within the department.
• Ensures that all non-conforming parts are identified, isolated, quarantined, and that hold tickets are issued.
• Participates in corrective action for all held products.
• Keeps all material and product handling equipment clean and assures that all work stations are clean and organized.
• Relieves personnel for breaks as required.
• Follows all safety rules and procedures and observes the operations to insure a safe environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in manufacturing environment; preferably a packaging or injection molding environment.
• Embraces continuous improvement.
