Are you the go-to expert for blow molding setups? Do you thrive on getting molds aligned perfectly, adjusting parison programs with finesse, and solving mechanical mysteries before they slow production? Are you looking for a Day Shift role where safety, precision, and teamwork come first? If so, Pretium wants to meet you.
Why this role matters
Every safe, high-quality bottle begins with a flawless setup. You'll prepare, install, and calibrate molds, tooling, and auxiliary equipment for plastic extrusion and injection blow molding machines - keeping quality high and downtime low.
Role highlights
- Own mold maintenance: clean, polish, and lubricate molds, pins, locking rings, and cores to remove flash, plastic buildup, and debris.
- Lead mold installs, alignment, removals, and accessory changeovers for rapid, reliable production starts.
- Configure blow molding parameters: temperatures, parison programming, and blow pin settings.
- Diagnose defects—flash, thin walls, uneven distribution—and correct them quickly.
- Tune machine settings (pressure, timing) to hit both quality and production rate targets.
- Verify quality by inspecting and weighing finished parts; apply precision measuring tools.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs and routine PMs on molds and machines.
- Document production data, downtime, and material usage accurately.
- Coach Maintenance and Setup teammates; share best practices to elevate skills.
- Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Production, and Quality to drive uptime.
- Deliver a complete end-of-shift handoff; keep end-of-shift reports current and accurate.
- Update maintenance logs and equipment records in CMMS (MaintainX).
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Communicate clearly with peers and the operations team when issues arise.
- Champion safety: follow LOTO, GMP, and PPE protocols.
What you'll need to succeed
- 3-5+ years in manufacturing with direct blow molding experience.
- Mechanical troubleshooting strengths and comfort using hand tools.
- Understanding of plastics/polymers and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics; detect quality flaws; maintain precision settings.
- CMMS familiarity and preventive maintenance scheduling experience (MaintainX a plus).
- Self-starter who collaborates well with teams.
- Ability to lift molds; capable of bending, twisting, and climbing as needed.
- Flexibility to work overtime.
Compensation and benefits
- Up to $33.50/hr based on experience, with overtime opportunities.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Paid time off and 10 paid holidays annually.
