Job summary

ConMet, a division of Amsted Industries, seeks an experienced Manufacturing/Process Engineer to modernize plastics operations in Canton, NC. You will drive product line introductions, optimize processes for quality, safety, and throughput, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver cost‑effective manufacturing improvements.

You will leverage ERP systems, 3D CAD tools, and hands‑on manufacturing knowledge to define robust production methods and cost analyses, shaping scalable, efficient

Qualifications

• BS in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering; 3+ years in manufacturing
• ERP proficiency (SAP or similar) required; cross-functional coordination
• Hands-on understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes; problem-solving mindset
• Nice to have: CNC programming, PLC exposure, APQP, FMEA, GD&T; plastics welding experience welcome

Responsibilities

• Launch new product lines into existing operations with minimal disruption and maximum stability.
• Target processes where engineering analysis yields the biggest wins—quality, safety, throughput, and cost.
• Analyze and improve stations using time studies, ergonomics principles, and 3D modeling.
• Run economic comparisons to select cost‑effective process alternatives.
• Streamline process flow and standard work for predictable, scalable performance.
• Define, develop, and lock in robust production processes.
