Job summary

Midland Plastics, Inc. in Green Bay, WI seeks a Fabricator to set up and operate fabrication and assembly processes for plastic parts.

You will use strip heaters, press brakes, drill presses, routers and saws, reading blueprints and work orders to ensure parts meet specifications. Responsibilities include assembling parts, applying adhesives for bonding, finishing with sanding and polishing, keeping the work area clean, and following established set-up procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent; relevant training considered.
  • Ability to utilize measuring equipment.
  • Able to read and understand verbal and written directions and follow work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates strip heaters and press brake for bending.
  • Sets up and operates drill presses for drilling, countersinking, and tapping operations.
  • Sets up and operates table routers and saws.
  • Frequently uses hand and power tools.
  • Sets up and heats parts using oven or heat gun.
  • Fits and assembles parts and attaches hardware and fittings using clamps, jigs, fixtures, power tools and fasteners.
  • Applies adhesives to assemblies for bonding.
  • Sanding, buffing, polishing and cleaning of product.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders and related documents to determine methods and sequence of operations, dimensional and finish specifications.
  • Ensures safety of themselves and coworkers by keeping their work area clean.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Overview

The Fabricator is responsible for setting up the fabrication and assembly of plastic products, applying knowledge of plastic cutting, bending and bonding techniques, using precision instruments, hand tools, machines and equipment in order to produce parts on time and according to specifications.

  • Sets up and operates strip heaters and or press brake for bending
  • Sets up and operates drill presses, for drilling, countersinking, and taping operations
  • Sets up and operates table routers and saws
  • Frequently uses hand and power tools
  • Sets up and heats parts using oven or heat gun
  • Fits and assembles parts and attaches hardware and fittings using clamps, jigs, fixtures, power tools and fasteners
