Job summary

Omega-Plastics-LLC in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Plastics Extrusion Grinder to operate granulating machines and handle scrap materials under close supervision.

You will grind scrap, clean machines, label and stock regrind, move materials with forklifts, and maintain a clean work area while complying with safety and quality standards. Shift options include 1st, 2nd and 3rd; 2nd and 3rd offer shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand on concrete floor for 8 hour shift.
• Must be able to work in cold and hot environments.
• Heavy lifting required.
• Walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs.
• Close vision to operate saws and drills.
• Read, write and perform basic math.
• Self-motivated, energetic with initiative.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong attention to detail.

Description

The Plastics Extrusion Grinder operates a variety of machines used to granulate plastics. Works from specific verbal and written supervision with close supervision.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Grind scrap material
• Clean granulating machine as required
• Ensures materials are not contaminated while grinding
• Weigh, label, stock, and record regrind material in raw inventory area
• Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas, using forklifts and hand tool
• Remove and dispose of scrap material as directed
• Maintain and clean work area
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday:

• 1st Shift 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
• 2nd Shift 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm - $ 75 cents shift differential
• 3rd Shift 10:30 pm to 7:00 am - $ 1.25 shift differential

Requirements
