Job summary

McCLARIN Composites is seeking a Plastics Engineer to lead process development for thermoformed products used in rail, construction and heavy equipment sectors. You will optimize safety, quality, delivery and cost while collaborating with manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate has a BS in plastics or related engineering, 5+ years of manufacturing experience, and hands‐on experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD, Lean tools, and problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Plastics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar engineering field
• Minimum of 5 years direct manufacturing experience
• Solidworks and AutoCad experience a plus
• Experience in Lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen or other “Lean” tools
• Analytical skills for troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Develop and document process, tooling, and new product development for thermoformed products.
• Optimize productivity, reduce cycle time, improve quality, reduce scrap, and reduce operating costs through continual process improvement.
• Initiate and assist with capital improvement projects aimed at improving plant capabilities through new equipment purchase and/or facility modification.
• Develop and monitor training plans to ensure personnel are versed in new process requirements.
