Job summary

US Conec, Ltd. is seeking a Plastics Engineer to lead injection molding processes and tooling development across new and existing programs.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Manufacturing to improve process capability, product quality, efficiency, and cost while driving innovation in plastics manufacturing. The role emphasizes process development, mold qualification, and data-driven improvements with a focus on cycle-time reduction and defect elimination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Polymer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with plastic injection molding in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of polymer materials, resin behavior, mold design, and processing.
  • Familiar with DOE, SPC, Measurement System Analysis, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement in molding processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; proficient MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and optimize plastic injection molding processes for new and existing products.
  • Lead mold trials, process qualification, and production readiness efforts.
  • Analyze molding performance and implement improvements to enhance quality, reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and increase OE.
  • Partner with Tooling, Product Development, and Manufacturing on mold design reviews and launches.
  • Evaluate materials and resins based on performance, manufacturability, and cost objectives.
  • Utilize scientific molding principles and data analysis to establish robust, repeatable processes.
  • Troubleshoot molding defects and process issues across the line.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
  • Collaborate on root-cause investigations for customer complaints and CAPAs.
