Job summary

US Conec, Ltd. is seeking a Plastics Engineer to lead development and optimization of plastic injection molding processes for new and existing products.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Manufacturing to improve capability, quality, efficiency, and cost while driving innovation across manufacturing operations. You will mentor technicians, lead mold trials, analyze performance, and implement improvements using scientific molding principles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with plastic injection molding in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of polymer materials, resin behavior, mold design, and processing principles.
  • Understanding of DOE, SPC, Measurement Systems Analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience troubleshooting molding processes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and optimize plastic injection molding processes for new and existing products.
  • Lead process development activities including mold trials, process qualification, and production readiness.
  • Analyze molding performance and implement improvements to enhance quality and reduce scrap.
  • Collaborate with Tooling, Product Development, and Manufacturing on mold design reviews and launches.
  • Evaluate materials and resins based on performance, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Establish robust, repeatable molding processes using statistical methods.
  • Troubleshoot defects and process issues such as flash, short shots, and warpage.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focusing on safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to technicians and production staff.
