Job summary

LMT Products in New Jersey is seeking a Plastics Engineer to design plastics and injection-mold fabrication processes, and to manage tooling for manufacture. You will interact with customers and suppliers, analyze data, and drive improvements from concept through production.

Responsibilities include Moldflow analysis, 3D part design (SolidWorks preferred), process optimization, and ensuring quality output of molded components.

Qualifications

• Education required as listed: B. Sc in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Polymer/Plastics or related discipline.
• 3–5 years’ experience with injection molding, product design, quoting and trouble shooting.
• Experience with polymer materials, surface treatment, heat transfer, and related topics.

Responsibilities

• Design plastics or injection-mold fabrication processes.
• Create and improve injection-mold machinery processes.
• Research and develop new manufacturing processes.
• Analyze manufacturing data and suggest improvements.
• Analyze production capabilities of machinery lines.
• Ensure quality output of molded components.
• Develop engineered plastic parts and insert molding.
• Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal resources.
• Establish parameters for an optimal molding environment.
• Moldflow data analysis including simulations.
• Assist in mold design of hot/cold runner molds.
• Develop 3D solid part designs (SolidWorks preferred).
