Engineering Company in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a Plastics Applications Engineer to join our thermoplastics applications team. You will work on hands-on plastics and injection molding to develop new engineering thermoplastic applications from development through commercialization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in technical service or polymer engineering, a relevant bachelor's degree, experience with injection molding fundamentals and material characterization techniques, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical service, polymer engineering, product development, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of injection molding fundamentals.
• Experience with material characterization techniques (DSC, FTIR, SEM, microscopy, MFR, mechanical testing, or dimensional metrology).
• Must be able to work in the United States (no sponsorship).
• Must pass pre-hire checks including background, drug screening, references.

Plastics Applications Engineer – Engineering Thermoplastics Applications in the Farmington Hills, MI area!

A multinational company with a facility in the Farmington Hills, Michigan area is currently seeking an Applications / Technical Service Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity with their growing team. These are exciting opportunities for Applications Engineers looking to combine hands‑on plastics and injection molding expertise with customer‑facing applications engineering, helping solve real‑world technical challenges and bring new engineering thermoplastic applications from development through commercialization.

Plastics Applications / Technical Service Engineer rates are anticipated to be $90,000 to $110,000 per year based on each candidates experience and education. All well qualified candidate will be considered regardless of pay rates.

Qualified Plastics Applications / Technical Service Engineers will have most if not all, of the following skills and experience:

• 5+ years of recent / relevant experience with technical service, polymer engineering, product development, application development, or related technical fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related technical field is preferred- but equivalent experience, educations, certifications will be considered.
• Working knowledge of injection molding fundamentals.
• Experience with analyzing and interpreting material characterization techniques such as DSC, FTIR, SEM, microscopy, MFR, mechanical testing, or dimensional metrology is preferred.
• Must be able to work in the United States (no H-1 sponsorship or student visas considered).
• Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks including background, drug screening, reference, etc.
